National Park Entrance Fee: Visitors must pay the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park entrance fee. Fee is not included with room rates. The fee is $30 per non-commercial vehicles, $25 per motorcycles, $15 per individual traveling on foot or bicycle, Entrance fee is valid for seven (7) consecutive days. The $55 Hawaii Tri-Park Annual Pass is also an option. View Rooms: All of our Crater View rooms overlook Kilauea Caldera and most of them offer views of the steam plumes and lava lake from Halemaumau Crater. The views also include the endemic Ohia tree and its blossom, the Lehua flower. While these trees may partially obscure the views of the caldera, please understand that they are a vital part of the National Park ecosystem.
Televisions: We have purposely kept televisions out of our rooms to encourage guests to enjoy all the beauty of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Instead of televisions, we do offer free us of WI-FI, daily board and card games, and a lending library with guidebooks, cultural history and children’s bedtime stories. We do also offer IPads that can be borrowed by hotel guest. Ask at the front desk for more information.
Air Conditioning: None of our guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning. The average high temperature runs between 67 and 73 degrees Fahrenheit and at an elevation of nearly 4000 feet, most of our guests are surprised how cool it can be in the park and that’s why we’ve installed wall heaters in all of our guest rooms. Each room is equipped with a small fan if you do require additional cooling.
Elevators: As a Historic Volcano House Lodge, we do not have an elevator for our two (2) level building. If you need assistance with luggage please ask our front desk associates for assistance. If you require a lower-level room, please call our twenty-four (24) hour front desk at 808-756-9625 prior to your arrival date.
Parking: Due to the ongoing construction and renovation of the Visitor’s Center in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, we would like to apologize in advance for the limited parking as we do not have designated parking for hotel guests. If our parking area in front of the hotel is full, we do have additional limited parking across the street at the Visitor’s Center.
Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping service is available by request only. Please ask front desk associate about services.
Deposit Policy: All reservations require a credit card deposit of one (1) night’s room and tax due at the time of booking.
Cancellation Policy: Cancel seven (7) days prior to your arrival date to avoid penalty of one (1) night room and tax. Cancellation policies for specials and promotional offers may vary. Please refer to the specific offer for details.
No Show Policy: If you have a reservation, and do not show up for your reservation your reservation will be cancelled, and your deposit will be forfeited. If you have a multiple night reservation and you do not show up on the first night your reservation will be cancelled entirely, and your deposit will be forfeited.
Namakani Paio Cabins: Check in for the Namakani Paio Cabin reservations are at the Volcano House Hotel front desk any time after 3pm. Limit to two (2) vehicles per cabin. One (1) 10X10 pop up or a two (2) person tent is allowed at each cabin but nothing larger.
Namakani Paio Campground Rules: The number of campers is limited to six (6) persons or all members of an immediate family. A maximum of two (2) tents per site and one (1) pop up 10X10 is allowed. The campsite pavilion is off limits for camping and gatherings. Parties of any type are not allowed in the pavilion. All fires must be in established fire pits or fire grills and attended to at all times. Fire restriction may be applied at any time. The use of roller skates, skateboards, roller skies, and coasting vehicles and /or similar vehicles are not allowed.
